| Serving Him |
Do you know this Moffatt's lyric,
If life is so short Why don't you let me love you Before we run out of time If love is so strong Why won't you take the chance Before our time has gone If life is so short, if life is so short
Let's change the lyric into :
If life is so short Why don't you let us serve Him Before we run out of time If love is so strong Why won't we take the chance Before our time has gone If life is so short, if life is so short
Empower me, O Lord...

| As A 2nd Year Student |

Here what I mean as the second year students are those who belong to ISCF member. Well, I think I am not that close with my 2nd year friends in my physics class. The reason is because of the multi nationalities which make it difficult to blend. Like what I said before, the birds will flock with those with the same fur. So, I make more friends with Indonesians here. But it's not all Indonesian, only those in ISCF only. As second year students, I think we have more influences in ISCF because there are a lot of us and our relationship is the strongest one, I think
The photo above was taken after a Friday session on Holy Spirit Doctrine. That was the ISCF program where we are separated by groups based on the year and we have our own material to learn.
Well, what I see is the difference of our topic of conversation compared what we talked last year. Last year, we talked only about the school work, assignment, AUs, Grade, SU and other academic stuffs. Now, the conversation is mostly about love (girl or boy), relationship, share, life and more general things. I am so grateful that we have a closer relationship each other day by day and I am so grateful that I have family in this hectic Singapore. Hopefully, It can last until a long time.

| Corrinne May |

Five Loaves and Two Fishes
Corrinne May A little boy of thirteen was on his way to school He heard a crowd of people laughing and he went to take a look Thousands were listening to the stories of one man He spoke with such wisdom, even the kids could understand
The hours passed so quickly the day turned to night Everyone was hungry but there was no food in sight The boy looked in his lunchbox at the little that he had He wasn't sure what good it'd do there were thousands to be fed
But he saw the twinkling eyes of Jesus the kindness in His smile and the boy cried out with the trust of a child he said:
"Take my five loaves and two fishes Do with it as you will I surrender Take my fears and inhibitions All my burdens, my ambitions You can use it all to feed them all"
I often think about that boy when I'm feeling small and I worry that the work I do means nothing at all
But every single tear I cry is a diamond in His hands and every door that slams in my face I will offer up in prayer
So I'll give you every breath that I have Oh Lord, you can work miracles All that you need is my "Amen"
Take my five loaves and two fishes Do with it as you will I surrender Take my fears and inhibitions All my burdens, my ambitions You can use it all I hope it's not too small
I trust in you I trust in you
Take my five loaves and two fishes Do with it as you will I surrender Take my fears and inhibitions All my burdens, my ambitions You can use it all no gift is too small
One day, my bro, Martin told me about this song. Firstly, I didn't notice the lyrics, but after I looked up the lyrics, I found that this is very touching song. I promise, if you are a christian, you will be reminded something after you hear this song. The link is here. Labels: Christianity |

| The Accounting Exam |

Of course you know that I really struggled with accounting subject, the subject that I took in the first special session which has just ended. The question was manageable but I am sure many people could do it so it will be so difficult to get A. Overall, I can now learn many things about accounting which is the important language of business. I then remembered on what Pastor Kong said in the last service in CHC last saturday. As a Christian, we should try to always excel in everything we do. That is also our way to praise God in our life. Besides, we can shine to others and we can have the social impact. I know I haven't been able to do that excellence. I am trying to do it again for next year. Amin

| Ascension Day |

Well, honestly, I didn't notice that today is Ascension Day. This morning, I woke up late (9 am, after completing my slides) and I read some messages in my handphone. One of my friend sent me this message :
Yenni said "Sep,U ke gereja ga hr ini? ke BB ato CHC jam berapa"
I replied
Septian said "Ini kan hari kamis Yen"
Septian replied "oooo,,,gw lupa kalo Isa Almasih, thanks ngingetin, aku tanyain temen dulu jam berapa kebaktiannya"
After having a accounting presentation today(fortunately, it was okay), I went to GPBB (Presbyterian Church) in Bukit Batok, Singapore. I just knew that in Singapore, this great day wasn't declared as national holiday. Even, many people forget this day, including me. It wasn't like in Indonesia where most of my friends can relax at home till next saturday. Especially it is good for the Indonesian-Christian to concentrate this day to go to church.
Well, I am sure most churches here held a service at night because no one will come if it was held in the morning. For your information, everything here is sometimes held at night, even for national party campaign. Hopefully, Singapore will make this Ascension Day as the national holiday. For the Christians, hopefully, this day can be commemorated anually because this is the day where the relation between God and human is reconciled and God has had the willingness to prepare the place for His believers in this world. For that reason, it isn't fair if Ascension Day is considered as the most neglected day in Singapore, like what my pastor said just now.
Okay, back to sleep, 4 hours sleep only....

| Memory, Don't Let It Go |
Hopefully the spirit of Easter will always last in my heart. Doing what God wants because our love to Him.
That was the easter egg that I made through the night. It contained of some kinds of egg and the chocolate in the form of egg. It made me slept late but I was so glad that when I finished it.
The bus brought us to the morning service, 6 am in the morning, fortunately I could wake up.

I went to church this morning, fortunately the bus wasn't so crowded. It was the first time for me to have a Good Friday service in Singapore. After that, Melinda, Marvin, and I went to Ko Zonny and Ci Alice house to celebrate Marvin's birthday. Well, the cocktail was nice. Labels: Christianity |

| Maundy Thursday |
Via Dolorosa (Latin for "Way of Grief") is a street in the Old City of Jerusalem. Traditionally, it is held to be the path that Jesus walked on the way to his crucifixion. It is marked by nine of the fourteen Stations of the Cross. The last five stations are inside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.Source : Wikipedia Down the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem that day
The soldiers tried to clear the narrow street But the crowd pressed in to see The Man condemned to die on Calvary He was bleeding from a beating, there were stripes upon His back And He wore a crown of thorns upon His head And He bore with every step The scorn of those who cried out for His death Down the Via Dolorosa called the way of suffering Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ the King, But He chose to walk that road out of His love for you and me. Down the Via Dolorosa, all the way to Calvary. The blood that would cleanse the souls of all men Made its way through the heart of Jerusalem. Down the Via Dolorosa called the way of suffering Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ the King But He chose to walk that road out of His love for you and me Down the Via Dolorosa, all the way to Calvary.

I was fasting this day and I went to church in the evening. The public transport was so crowded. Fortunately, I got the bus and I wasn't late. We used the Tenebrae Liturgy and the song Via Dolorosa was headr so often. The atmosphere of the church was healing the situation of my heart. I am not patient to go there again tomorrow. Thanks Jesus for this day. Labels: Christianity |

| Sunday Service |
Fortunately, I could wake up at 7 o'clock this morning so I could go to earlier monday service today. This was the strange morning where I felt something reluctant and this body was lazy to do anything, including speaking. That was why I was just too silent in the bus this morning. As if, I realize something. But, I don't know what it is. Let it be.
The church seemed to be busier this morning. This is the second week of Pre-Easter Day. This morning service wasn't as touching as last week where the pianist this morning didn't play the sad song like last week. But, it was okay, I think. Today's preaching was about sincretism. Fortunately, Pr. Ayub Yahya preached today and the jokes were like usual, so shaking my stomach. Many things were learned. On of them is about how we should avoid syncretism. Syncretism consists of the attempt to reconcile disparate or contradictory beliefs, often while melding practices of various schools of thought. The term may refer to attempts to merge and merge and analogize several originally discrete traditions, especially in the theology and mythology of religion, and thus assert an underlying unity(wikipedia). When Ayub Yahya said that, I remember how when I was asked to go to my grandmother's cemetery to spread the roses there. At that time, I refused the invitation to go there. I didn't believe with this kind of tradition. That was why the today's preaching reminded me with that occurence.
From church, Garlia, Jerry, Maria and I went to an Indonesian stall in Bukit Batok, just 2 minutes away from church. I ordered Soto Ayam and it was so nice. It was the first time for me to eat the soto ayam. Before, I asked some Singaporeans about this food but they didn't have idea. Hem....I will go there again next week. So nice, but it was only bucks. I loved the ketchup besides I miss this Indonesian hot kechup. This mad me miss my family suddenly when I was reminded that everytime we went home from church, we always had a lunch in a "prominent" soto stall near our church. I hope they bought that today and they always remember me everytime they have lunch.

| Pemeliharaan Tuhan |
Thanks Jesus.

Name: -ian-
Home: Nanyang Crescent, Boon Lay, Singapore
About Me: When everything changes, I wanna still stay there calmly, and wait for the right time. I am surrounded by so called "radical" dreams. I don't know whether it is a form of idealism of a youth. But, be a doctor was my dream, but Physics came into me. ITB was my dream, but He gave NTU for me. Currently, I wanna be a high school teacher, researcher, journalist, writer, businessman, also want to study abroad again. It is unclear but it is fair. As far as I can, because I can jump higher as a true worshiper, as a true believer. Let me be a clay oh God, form me as You want.
